The Formation of Networks for Career Continuation: Examination of a Survey of Female Physicians

Abstract
Because of the shortage of physicians in Japan, returning to work of female physicians is highly desirable. We find that the importance of building physician’s professional networks for the female physicians to return to the hospital and continue to work. It will also likely be important for female physicians to adopt an attitude of freely discussing their circumstances within the network. Networks between physicians are closed, bonding relationships based on mutual assistance.
